VF Lift – Vertical Facelift adapted for the body is a skin-firming protocol: Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency heats the dermis and fibrous septa of lax skin on the arms, abdomen, thighs and knees over larger zones, along vectors set to each area. It is not fat removal, and skin that hangs as a fold after large weight loss is referred.

The VF Lift – Vertical Facelift is adapted for the body by changing the zones and the vectors, not the energy. Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency heats the dermis and the fibrous septa beneath it as a volume, with the skin surface cooled throughout, and on the body that heating is planned over zones many times larger than a cheek, along the direction each area has lengthened: up the inner arm toward the armpit, upward and inward across the abdomen, up the inner thigh, and upward over the skin above the knee. The hub page explains the Lift, Reduce and Restore aims on the face; on the body the Lift aim does most of the work.
Body skin also varies more in thickness than facial skin. The abdomen carries a thick dermis and fat beneath it; the inner arm and inner thigh are thin and loose; the skin above the knee lies close to bone. Heating is set to each zone, kept conservative over thin or bony areas, and adjusted in real time to the heat the patient reports.
They are two radiofrequency protocols on two platforms for two different findings. The VF Lift for the body is Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency applied to the surface, heating lax skin and its septa as a volume: a firming protocol for skin that has lost recoil. The 4K Body Lift is Dr Sin Yong's protocol on Secret Duo, which delivers radiofrequency through insulated microneedles at set depths, directed at compact, resistant fat and the skin over it: a contouring protocol for a pinchable, stubborn deposit in someone near their usual weight.
The assessment decides which finding dominates. Loose skin over little fat is a VF Lift question; a firm, pinchable bulge under skin with reasonable recoil is a 4K Body Lift question; and an abdomen after pregnancy often has both, in which case the proportions decide the order. Reducing fat under skin that has already lost its recoil leaves the same outline and looser skin, so the skin question is settled before any fat-directed step is planned. The sagging tummy treatment page sets out how the two are sequenced with the Time Freeze Laser LCLR® Bodylift on the abdomen.
“Reducing fat under skin that has already lost its recoil leaves you with the same outline and looser skin. Which of the two is dominant has to be settled first.”
Dr Sin YongOn body assessment
It does not remove fat, it does not close a gap between the abdominal muscles, and it does not shorten skin. Monopolar radiofrequency prompts collagen in lax skin to contract and remodel; it cannot make a stretched envelope smaller than its collagen and elastin allow. Skin that lifts away from the body as a fold, that hangs over the waistband or swings on the inner arm, has been stretched beyond elastic recovery, and the loose skin after weight loss page explains why further dieting makes that worse rather than better.
That skin is surgical territory. Dr Sin Yong says so at assessment and refers to a plastic surgery specialist for brachioplasty, abdominoplasty or thigh lift assessment rather than planning energy around it. Separated abdominal muscles after pregnancy and visceral fat behind the muscle wall are likewise not skin problems and are assessed separately. The honest ceiling of energy-based firming is stated before anything is planned.
| Zone | What is assessed | What is adjusted |
|---|---|---|
| Upper arm (inner and back) | Skin recoil; whether it swings as a fold; fat on pinch | Vector up toward the armpit; conservative heating over thin inner skin; fold referred |
| Abdomen | Loose skin, pinchable fat, muscle gap; apron that hangs | Upward and inward vectors; 4K Body Lift sequenced for fat; apron referred |
| Inner thigh | Thin, loose skin; fat on pinch; chafing fold | Vector up the thigh; conservative heating; fold referred |
| Above the knee | Skin close to bone; crepe versus fold | Upward vector; lowest heating of the body zones |
| Flank and waist | Pinchable fat versus skin; weight stability | Mostly a 4K Body Lift question; VF Lift where skin leads |
It suits mild to moderate laxity with reasonable recoil: skin on the upper arm, abdomen, inner thigh or above the knee that has loosened with age, after modest weight change or after pregnancy, in someone whose weight is broadly stable and who accepts a gradual response and a bounded one. Skin quality is assessed for every skin type, with settings adjusted for darker phototypes.
A pacemaker or other implanted electronic device rules out monopolar radiofrequency, and metal implants, including joint replacements near the knee or hip, change the plan. Pregnancy, active infection, open wounds or eczema in the zone mean waiting, and a tendency to keloid scarring or poor healing is weighed first. Someone still losing weight is asked to reach a stable weight before skin is assessed, because the envelope changes as the fat beneath it goes.
Redness, warmth, mild swelling and tenderness over the treated zones are expected and settle as the skin cools. Less commonly, too much heat in one spot can cause a blister, a crust or a small burn; a patch of altered sensation can last longer; and over-heating of fat beneath thin skin, most relevant on the inner arm and above the knee, can leave a dent. In darker skin any surface injury can be followed by temporary pigment change. These risks are reduced by assessment, continuous surface cooling, settings kept conservative over thin zones and heat feedback followed pass by pass; anything that does not settle should be reported the same day.
The fee depends on the size and number of body zones the examination brings in, whether one or several areas are treated, and whether the 4K Body Lift or another step is sequenced alongside. Singapore's rules prevent clinics from advertising prices; a written quote follows the consultation, as the how fees are quoted page explains, and the consultation also decides whether energy-based firming is the honest answer for your skin at all.
No. On the body it is a skin-firming protocol: Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency heats lax skin and its septa as a volume. Compact, resistant fat is a 4K Body Lift question on Secret Duo, and the two are sequenced when both are present.
Only within a bounded ceiling. Mild to moderate laxity with reasonable recoil may suit it; skin that lifts away as a fold has been stretched beyond elastic recovery and is referred to a plastic surgery specialist. Assessment grades the recoil first.
The name describes the method: heating along the vertical vector the tissue lengthened along, planned zone by zone. On the body the zones are larger and the vectors follow each limb, but the energy and the planning principle are the same.
Metal implants in or near the treatment field change the plan for monopolar radiofrequency, because current passes through tissue to a return pad. A joint replacement near the knee is declared at consultation and the zone is planned around it or left out.
No. A gap between the abdominal muscles after pregnancy is a muscle-wall problem, not a skin problem, and radiofrequency does not close it. It is assessed separately, and surgical repair is referred where needed.
