Time Freeze Laser LCLR® — Dual Wavelength Lifting at Multiple Skin Depths

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® works through laser heating rather than the focused ultrasound of Ultherapy or the monopolar radiofrequency of Thermage. LCLR® (Laser Collagen Lipo Remodelling) is a dual wavelength laser protocol that simultaneously delivers energy at multiple depths of the skin — combining immediate collagen contraction during the session with progressive collagen neogenesis over the following weeks. The two wavelengths have different absorption profiles and are used together rather than singly.

Time Freeze is used across two primary categories: facial lifting (sagging jowls, nasolabial folds, droopy eyelids, under-eye region and general skin laxity) and body lifting and contouring (underarms, tummy, breasts, buttocks, thighs, love handles, back and intimate areas — across the full body). When the lifting occurs, it physically improves hollowness in deficient areas by repositioning descended tissue — which can reduce the amount of filler some patients need.

The LCLR component targets skin integrity comprehensively: reducing fine lines, refining pore size, improving skin texture and boosting overall skin integrity . The Sculpting mode of LCLR® targets superficial fat with precision — refining point-zone fat deposits in specific zones selected by Dr Sin Yong. These zones mirror the areas conventionally treated by liposuction on the face and body, treated here without surgery.

LCLR® Protocol Components

01
Immediate Collagen Contraction — Dual Wavelength at Multiple Depths
Thermal dual wavelength laser energy contracts existing collagen fibres at multiple skin depths simultaneously during the session — the first part of the response, with remodelling continuing as new collagen forms. Energy is directed at the superficial, mid and deep dermis within the same session.
02
Progressive Collagen Neogenesis & Skin Integrity
The dual wavelength laser stimulus triggers new collagen production over the following weeks — so remodelling continues after the session. Alongside structural collagen neogenesis, the protocol comprehensively improves skin integrity: reducing fine lines, refining pore size, improving skin texture and boosting overall skin quality . Whether further sessions are useful is decided at review, according to how the skin has responded.
03
Sculpting Mode — Sagged Fat and Settled Filler
The Sculpting mode of LCLR® targets specific zones of superficial fat selected by Dr Sin Yong — refining the targeted area per session. These zones mirror the areas conventionally treated by liposuction: submental area, jowls, buccal fat regions on the face; and underarms, love handles, tummy, inner thighs and other body zones. Treated adipocytes do not regenerate; surrounding tissue continues to change. Unlike surgical fat removal, the Sculpting mode requires no anaesthesia, and recovery depends on the area treated — the fat reduction occurs through controlled thermal disruption of adipocytes at the selected point zones.
04
Real-Time Calibration per Zone
Dr Sin Yong calibrates wavelength, fluence and treatment vector in real time based on tissue response in each zone — applying lifting parameters where tissue needs elevation, Sculpting-mode parameters where sagged fat or settled filler is targeted, and skin quality parameters for fine line and pore refinement. This zone-by-zone personalisation is unavailable from fixed-protocol devices that apply the same energy regardless of the underlying anatomy.
05
Recovery and Session Length
Recovery depends on the settings and area, and is discussed at consultation; mild redness is common and settles. Each session takes approximately 45 minutes for a full face and neck protocol — longer for body treatment areas. No anaesthesia and no needles for the lifting component; how the skin responds varies between people.

“A laser cannot lift what only surgery can — but most faces are not surgical yet.”

Face Treatment Zones — Time Freeze Laser LCLR®

Sagging Jowls & Jawline

Time Freeze delivers targeted lifting energy to the jowl zone — contracting collagen and repositioning descended lower face tissue. Collagen remodelling continues over the following months, and the response varies between individuals. Whether the jowl is laxity, fat or both is decided at assessment.

Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial fold depth is driven by midface descent, not just volume loss. Time Freeze lifts the midface tissue that creates the fold — reducing fold depth from above rather than filling from below. When lifting is addressed first, less filler may be needed for the remaining fold.

Droopy Eyelids & Brow Ptosis

Periorbital LCLR® delivers precise lifting energy to the upper eyelid and brow zone — directed at lax upper-lid skin and brow heaviness. Laser heating tightens the fine collagen of the eyelid skin, with settings kept conservative around the eye; true ptosis of the eyelid muscle and large skin excess are referred for a specialist opinion.

Under-Eye Region

The under-eye zone benefits from dual wavelength energy that tightens the fine skin of the lower eyelid, reduces the skin laxity causing tear trough shadow depth, and improves skin texture in the periorbital area. A delicate zone requiring precise calibration — Dr Sin Yong customises energy parameters specifically for this region.

Skin Quality — Fine Lines, Pores & Texture

Beyond lifting, Time Freeze improves overall facial skin integrity — refining pore size, smoothing fine surface lines and improving skin texture through progressive collagen remodelling. Skin quality is treated alongside lifting rather than as an afterthought.

Hollow Improvement

When Time Freeze lifts descended tissue back to its natural position, the hollowness in adjacent areas visibly improves — because descended tissue was previously creating shadow and depth. This positional correction can reduce the amount of filler a patient needs, which is assessed case by case.

Turkey Neck & Loose Neck Skin

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is used for turkey neck — the loose, crepey, horizontally banded neck skin that develops with age. Dual wavelength energy directly contracts lax neck skin, softens platysmal bands and improves the cervicomental angle. Collagen remodelling continues over the following weeks as new collagen forms. Often combined with BTX Nefertiti lift for a comprehensive lower face and neck result.

What is Time Freeze Laser LCLR®? Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is Dr Sin Yong's dual-wavelength laser lifting protocol on a long-pulsed 755 nm and 1064 nm platform, working through controlled dermal heating. Together with VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, it is built to target Sculptra and Ellansé and take away the excess; not every laser can do this.

Laser Collagen Lipo Remodelling — the Meaning of LCLR®

LCLR® stands for Laser Collagen Lipo Remodelling. It is a proprietary protocol developed by Dr Sin Yong on the long-pulsed 755 nm / 1064 nm platform, presented to — and affirmed by — international key opinion leaders in laser dermatology. The name describes its two remodelling actions: collagen remodelling, which produces the lifting and tightening described on this page, and lipo-remodelling, in which controlled bulk heating reduces and reshapes unwanted fat and fibrous tissue.

Correcting Complications of Collagen-Stimulating Injectables

The same principle extends to a problem that conventional filler dissolving cannot reach. Hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic-acid filler — but there is no dissolving enzyme for collagen-stimulating agents. When Ellansé (polycaprolactone), Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid), or inter-layered fillers built on collagen-stimulating agents such as Juvelook or Lenisna (PDLLA–hyaluronic hybrids) are overfilled or form nodules, the excess material — and the collagen it has stimulated — has to be physically remodelled. This includes the overfilled “pillow face”, palpable nodules and lumps, and excess product left by earlier treatments elsewhere.

The same approach extends to fat graft complications. Grafted fat has no dissolving agent either — so when a fat graft has been overfilled, has migrated from where it was placed, or has formed uneven lumps, the lipo-remodelling arm of LCLR® is used to reduce and reshape the excess graft through controlled bulk heating and targeted fat apoptosis, guided by the same ultrasound mapping.

“Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved in minutes. A collagen stimulator cannot — it has to be remodelled.”

— Dr Sin Yong

LCLR® addresses this by using the laser’s energy to fragment excess bumps and lumps. Before any energy is delivered, Dr Sin Yong maps each deposit with ultrasound — locating the areas and measuring their size and depth — so that treatment is directed at the excess material rather than the surrounding tissue, layer by layer.

As a Global Key Opinion Leader, Dr Sin Yong is invited to share his clinical expertise on collagen-stimulating-agent complications internationally, and their correction with LCLR® is a dedicated focus of his clinical work in Singapore.

Body Lifting & Contouring — LCLR® Across the Full Body

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is not confined to the face. The same dual wavelength protocol delivers skin tightening treatment and lipo-modelling across the full body — addressing the same zones conventionally treated by liposuction and surgical body lifting, without surgery or anaesthesia.

Underarms

Loose skin tightening treatment Singapore for the underarm region — LCLR® tightens the skin of the axillary fold and reduces superficial underarm fat. A highly requested area for patients who avoid sleeveless clothing.

Tummy & Love Handles

Abdominal skin laxity and periumbilical fat reduction. LCLR lipo-modelling targets the waist and love handle zone with point-zone refinement per session — in zones conventionally treated by liposuction, without surgery.

Breast Lifting

Time Freeze delivers skin tightening to the breast region — lifting the overlying breast skin and improving the breast silhouette contour. A non-surgical alternative for patients seeking mild to moderate breast lift without surgical augmentation or mastopexy.

Buttocks

Gluteal skin tightening and LCLR lipo-modelling for the perigluteal zone. Improves the banana fold region and lifts loose skin of the lower buttock — a complement to the 4K Body Lift for patients seeking comprehensive body contouring results.

Thighs & Inner Legs

Inner thigh loose skin tightening treatment and fat reduction — one of the most difficult zones to address without surgery. LCLR® contracts the skin of the inner thigh while targeting superficial fat deposits, improving thigh gap and reducing skin redundancy without incisions.

Back & Intimate Areas

LCLR® can be applied to the upper and lower back for skin tightening and bra-line fat reduction. Intimate area treatment follows the same protocol — skin tightening and tissue lifting in regions where energy delivery is safe and effective. All body treatments follow the same LCLR® calibration approach.

Peer Validation · CLASSYS APAC 2026

Dr Davin Lim (101.skin, Sydney) at the CLASSYS APAC 2026 International Symposium — international authority consensus on the Time Freeze Laser LCLR® lipo-remodelling protocol — validating the bulk heating mechanism that achieves fat apoptosis for facial slimming, and Dr Sin Yong's approach to thinking outside the box.

International Authority Consensus
"What you do is bulk heating — and when I look at your results, you have an element of apoptosis of your fat, your facial slimming. You're very smart because what you're doing is exactly the same. I talk about this to a lot of people. You're very good because you think outside the box." Dr Davin Lim specifically validated the LCLR lipo-remodelling component of Time Freeze — where controlled bulk heating induces fat apoptosis for targeted facial slimming. This is distinct from the laser collagen remodelling mechanism, through which Time Freeze delivers lifting independent of fat reduction.

Which eye lifting treatment suits droopy or hooded eyes?

The right eye lifting treatment depends on what is actually drooping: the eyelid skin, the brow above it, or the muscle that raises the lid. They look alike in the mirror, and each has a different answer.

Where the upper-lid skin has loosened and crêped, laser energy can tighten it; this is what the periorbital zone of Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is directed at, with settings kept conservative around the eye. Where the brow has descended and pushes skin down onto the lid, brow position is the target, and lifting energy is directed around the brow as well as the lid. Where the lid margin itself sits low over the iris because the lifting muscle has weakened, that is ptosis, a medical diagnosis that energy-based treatment does not correct, and it is referred to an oculoplastic specialist.

A large fold of redundant skin resting on the lashes is also beyond what laser tightening reaches; blepharoplasty, carried out by a plastic surgery or oculoplastic specialist, removes it. The under-eye area follows its own logic, with herniated fat, hollows, fluid and laxity separated before anything is planned. Naming the cause comes first, because a treatment aimed at the wrong layer changes very little.

Facial lifting without surgery: what each approach actually lifts

Non-surgical facial lifting tightens or supports tissue; it does not cut, reposition and remove skin the way a surgical facelift does. What separates the options is the layer each one works on, and matching that layer to the cause of sagging decides whether a treatment is worth doing.

Laser lifting with Time Freeze Laser LCLR® treats two depths of the skin for tightening and collagen stimulation, and its Sculpting mode addresses sagged fat and settled filler that weigh the lower face down. VF Lift – Vertical Facelift uses Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency to lift by tightening, sculpt pockets of puffiness and restore lean, hollow areas. HIFU places focal points of heat in the SMAS. Threads reposition tissue mechanically, and fillers or collagen biostimulators restore support where volume loss, rather than laxity, is what makes a face look as if it has dropped.

Most faces have more than one component, so a plan often combines approaches in sequence. Where there is marked skin excess, energy-based lifting may soften it but will not resolve it, and a surgical opinion from a plastic surgery specialist is the honest recommendation.

Who should not have Time Freeze Laser LCLR®?

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is postponed during pregnancy and over skin that is infected, broken or inflamed, including an active cold sore; a history of cold sores is worth mentioning, as antiviral cover may be advised. Freshly tanned or sunburnt skin is not treated, because the 755 nm wavelength is absorbed by melanin and the risk of burns and pigment change rises. Photosensitising medicines, recent isotretinoin and light-sensitive conditions such as lupus are discussed before any energy is delivered.

Other points shape the plan rather than rule it out: a tendency to keloid or hypertrophic scarring, active vitiligo, melasma, and tattoos or cosmetic tattooing such as eyebrow embroidery within the treatment zone. In a face that is already lean, removing fat would not help, which is one reason the zones for the Sculpting mode are selected at assessment. Marked skin excess and true ptosis of the eyelid muscle are beyond what a laser reaches and are referred for a surgical opinion. Suitability is decided at consultation, after Dr Sin Yong has taken a medical history and examined your skin.

Is Time Freeze Laser LCLR® safe? The risks to know

The common effects are redness, warmth and mild swelling, which usually settle within hours to a few days. Less often there may be tenderness, small areas of crusting, or temporary darkening of the skin (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), which is more likely in darker skin types and after sun exposure.

Rare risks include a burn or blister, lightening of the skin, scarring, and, where the Sculpting mode is used, more loss of fat in a zone than intended. Laser light can injure the eye, so protective eyewear or eye shields are used, and settings around the eyelids are kept conservative. Risk is reduced by a medical assessment before treatment, wavelength and fluence adjusted for skin type and for each zone, ultrasound mapping before any filler or fat-graft excess is treated, and diligent sun protection afterwards. If a burn, blister or swelling does occur, it is assessed and managed by a doctor at the clinic.

What recovery looks like after Time Freeze Laser LCLR®

The sequence below describes phases, not a timetable: how quickly each passes depends on the settings used, the area and the person, and is discussed at consultation.

  1. Immediately afterRedness, warmth and mild swelling in the treated zones; where fat or filler excess was targeted, the area can feel tender.
  2. The first eveningWarmth settles with cooling; sun protection starts immediately and continues throughout, especially in darker skin types.
  3. The following daysRedness and swelling settle on their own; small areas of crusting or temporary darkening are less common and are reviewed.
  4. As the skin settlesCollagen contraction from the visit is followed by new collagen formation and remodelling over the following months.
  5. Follow-upFiller need is reassessed once the tissue has responded, and any burn, blister or persistent swelling is managed by a doctor at the clinic.

Who it suits, who should wait, who is referred on

Tends to suit

  • Mild to moderate laxity of the jowls, jawline or neck
  • Loose, crepey neck skin
  • Compact fat along the jowl or under the chin selected at assessment
  • Body areas with mild to moderate laxity where suitable

Better to wait

  • Pregnancy
  • Freshly tanned or sunburnt skin, or infected, broken or inflamed skin including an active cold sore
  • Recent isotretinoin, or a goal that needs surgery

Referred on

  • Marked skin excess → plastic surgery specialist assessment
  • True eyelid muscle ptosis → oculoplastic specialist assessment
Who should not have this treatment
  • Pregnancy
  • Infected, broken or inflamed skin, including an active cold sore
  • Freshly tanned or sunburnt skin
  • Photosensitising medicines, recent isotretinoin or a light-sensitive condition such as lupus
  • A tendency to keloid or thick scarring, or active vitiligo
  • Tattoos or cosmetic tattooing, such as eyebrow embroidery, within the treatment zone

People with marked skin excess, true eyelid muscle droop, or a face already lean in the zones concerned tend to respond poorly, because a laser is the wrong tool for those problems.

Myths we hear in clinic

“A laser lift is the same as a facelift.”

It acts on collagen and compact fat, and it cannot remove or reposition the large skin excess that surgery addresses.

“Every laser tightens skin in the same way.”

Wavelength, depth and technique differ between lasers, so the mechanism, the risks and the skin suited to each differ too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Time Freeze Laser (LCLR®) is Dr Sin Yong's laser-based lifting and skin-rejuvenation protocol that uses laser energy to firm, lift and refine skin quality without surgery. It is applied to the face and neck and, where suitable, to body areas.

It is used for facial laxity, jowls, nasolabial folds, the neck, and overall skin quality. Where suitable, body areas can also be treated. The plan is tailored to each patient.

Sagging jowls and nasolabial folds are among the primary indications. The dual wavelength LCLR® protocol delivers energy at multiple skin depths so descended tissue along the jawline is tightened while collagen remodelling continues over the following weeks. Whether it is the right approach for your jowls is confirmed at an in-person assessment with Dr Sin Yong.

They work through different mechanisms. Ultherapy and HIFU deliver focused ultrasound energy; Time Freeze Laser LCLR® is a dual wavelength laser protocol that combines collagen contraction during the session with progressive collagen neogenesis afterwards. Because focused ultrasound also reduces fat, Dr Sin Yong does not plan it for lean faces; there he uses VF Lift – Vertical Facelift. For puffy or heavier faces he uses Time Freeze and its Sculpting mode.

The neck is treated in the same session as the face where indicated — the platysmal region, under-chin and jawline are addressed together so the lower-face contour stays balanced. Skin quality of the neck (crepiness, texture) is treated by the LCLR skin-integrity component.

It depends on how much fat the face has to spare. For a lean or already hollow face Dr Sin Yong plans neither; he uses VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, which lifts, sculpts pockets of puffiness and restores volume in hollow areas by stimulating the fat’s own stem cells; focused ultrasound reduces subcutaneous fat and deepens hollows. For a puffy or heavy lower face, with sagged fat or settled filler, he uses Time Freeze Laser LCLR® and its Sculpting mode. Where descent is structural in a face with normal fullness, ultrasound has a role. The choice is made at assessment, not from a menu.

They are different energies for the same layer, so it is not a ranking. Thermage heats the dermis with monopolar radiofrequency and has no component for fat or filler; Time Freeze heats the dermis with a dual-wavelength laser and adds a Sculpting mode for sagged fat and settled product. In clinic feedback patients rate Time Freeze at about 3 out of 10 for discomfort, against around 8 out of 10 reported for Thermage or Ultherapy. Which suits you depends on whether laxity alone is the problem or heaviness is part of it.

For superficial fat, Time Freeze removes volume from the surface without incisions. For thick fat pads Dr Sin Yong uses the 4K Body Lift, alone or with VF Lift, before any surgical discussion. Liposuction remains the route for fat that energy-based treatment does not reach; in Singapore it is limited to MOH-accredited doctors in approved facilities.

Yes. The Sculpting mode is used on Ellansé nodules, excess Juvelook, layered hyaluronic acid and migrated Sculptra. The area is mapped with ultrasound first where filler is involved, and the plan follows what is actually there. Hyaluronic acid can also be dissolved; collagen stimulators cannot, which is where the laser earns its place.

Loss of subcutaneous fat is a recognised side effect of focused ultrasound and has also been reported after monopolar radiofrequency. It is assessed in person; where the hollowing is established, the discussion is about restoring support, and VF Lift – Vertical Facelift is the approach Dr Sin Yong reaches for in lean faces.

Mild redness may be present for a short period. Recovery depends on the settings and area, and how the skin responds varies; this is discussed at consultation.
Yes — the LCLR® protocol addresses the full face and neck in the same session, including jowls, nasolabial folds, cervicomental angle and neck skin laxity.
Yes — periorbital LCLR® delivers dual wavelength laser energy precisely to the upper eyelid, brow and under-eye zones. Laser heating tightens the fine collagen of the eyelid skin, which can soften upper-lid laxity and brow heaviness; true ptosis of the eyelid muscle is a different problem and is referred on. The under-eye region also benefits from skin tightening and texture improvement in the delicate periorbital area. Parameters are carefully customised for this sensitive zone.
Yes — LCLR® is applied across the full body: underarms, tummy, love handles, breasts, buttocks, thighs, back and intimate areas. The protocol delivers both skin tightening treatment and LCLR lipo-modelling for point-zone fat refinement per session — mirroring the treatment zones of liposuction without surgery or anaesthesia. Treated adipocytes do not regenerate; surrounding tissue continues to change.
Beyond lifting, the LCLR® protocol improves overall skin quality — refining pore size, reducing fine lines and improving skin texture through collagen remodelling. This skin quality improvement is additional to the structural lifting and lipo-modelling effects, making Time Freeze a comprehensive skin tightening treatment Singapore that addresses multiple aspects of skin ageing in one protocol.
When Time Freeze lifts descended facial tissue back toward its natural position, hollowness in adjacent areas visibly improves — because descended tissue was casting shadow and creating apparent volume deficit. By correcting the positional cause of the hollow first, the amount of filler required is reduced. How much filler is still needed after lifting varies, and it is reassessed once the tissue has responded.

It tends to suit people wanting non-surgical lifting and skin refinement. Suitability is assessed by Dr Sin Yong at consultation.

When descended tissue is firmed and lifted toward its natural position, adjacent hollowing can look improved — which is why lifting is sometimes considered before adding volume. Dr Sin Yong assesses whether lifting, volume or a combination suits you.

Yes — this is one of the protocol’s defined uses. There is no dissolving enzyme for collagen-stimulating agents such as Ellansé, Sculptra, Juvelook or Lenisna, so excess material and nodules are instead fragmented with precisely directed laser energy. The same applies to fat graft complications — overfilled, migrated or lumpy fat grafts are reduced and reshaped through the protocol’s lipo-remodelling action. Dr Sin Yong maps each deposit with ultrasound before treatment, and suitability is confirmed at an in-person assessment.

No. A surgical facelift repositions deeper tissue and removes redundant skin under anaesthesia. Time Freeze Laser LCLR® uses controlled laser heating to tighten and remodel collagen and to refine compact fat; it does not remove skin. It suits mild to moderate laxity, and where descent and skin excess are beyond what a laser reaches, Dr Sin Yong says so and refers to a plastic surgery specialist.
Fees are not published. They depend on the area treated, the number of zones and passes, whether the Sculpting mode is used and whether another treatment is combined. A written quote is given at consultation, after Dr Sin Yong has examined you and taken a medical history, and the consultation also decides whether treatment is advised.
It can be worthwhile for mild to moderate laxity of the jowls, neck or body, or for compact fat in selected zones, in someone who accepts that remodelling is gradual. It is not worthwhile for marked skin excess, true eyelid muscle droop or a lean face where fat reduction would not help; those are referred or planned differently.
No duration can be promised. Collagen remodelling continues after the visit, and how long any change lasts depends on your skin, the zones treated, ageing, sun exposure and weight change. Whether further treatment is useful is decided at review, according to how the skin has responded, rather than to a fixed schedule.
Response is gradual and varies, and it cannot match what surgery does for marked skin excess. Redness, swelling and tenderness are expected, and temporary darkening can occur, particularly after sun exposure. Rarely, burns, blisters, scarring or more fat loss than intended occur. Recently tanned skin and some medicines mean treatment is postponed.

How the Time Freeze Laser LCLR® Works

The protocol works in the dermis and the superficial fat beneath it.

Unlike HIFU, which delivers energy to discrete focal points at fixed depths, the Time Freeze Laser LCLR® uses a scanning laser protocol delivering controlled thermal energy across a broader treatment zone. This creates a diffuse, progressive lifting response rather than isolated coagulation points. Laser heating contracts existing collagen fibres during the session, and remodelling continues over the following months as new collagen is synthesised; the degree of change varies between individuals.

Time Freeze Laser vs Ultherapy vs Thermage vs liposuction: what each one actually does

LCLR® stands for Laser Collagen Lipo Remodelling. The dual-wavelength protocol treats two different depths of the skin in the same pass: the superficial layer, where fine wrinkles and redness live, and the deeper dermis, where laxity sits, so skin tightening and collagen stimulation happen together with improvement in fine lines, redness and laxity. On top of that it has a dedicated Sculpting mode, used for fat that has sagged into the jowls or nasolabial folds, for the double chin, and for the fat that obscures the jawline. Ultherapy heats focal points in the SMAS with micro-focused ultrasound. Thermage heats the dermis broadly with monopolar radiofrequency. Liposuction removes fat mechanically through a cannula under anaesthesia. They are not four versions of the same thing; they work on different layers and solve different problems.

What the Sculpting mode is for

Beyond natural fat, Dr Sin Yong uses the Sculpting mode on Ellansé nodules, excess Juvelook, layered hyaluronic acid filler and migrated Sculptra: product that has settled where it was not wanted and now reads as heaviness or lumpiness. It is the treatment he reaches for first in those situations, because it works on the excess from the surface, without further injections. Where filler is involved, the area is mapped with ultrasound first, so the mode is applied to what is actually there.

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® vs Ultherapy and HIFU

Ultherapy places discrete points of heat at set depths into the SMAS and dermis. In a rater-blinded study of 35 patients, 86% showed a measurable brow lift at 90 days, averaging 1.7 mm.1 Focused ultrasound also reduces subcutaneous fat where it is delivered; it is used deliberately for that purpose under the chin,2 and in a lean face the same effect reads as hollowing. For that reason Dr Sin Yong does not plan Ultherapy or HIFU for lean faces. Time Freeze works across the dermis as a field rather than at points, and its Sculpting mode is reserved for areas that are too full, so the lean parts of the face are left alone.

If you have noticed hollowing after Ultherapy, Thermage or HIFU, it is a recognised side effect, not something you imagined. Loss of subcutaneous fat (lipoatrophy) is among the most frequently reported adverse events for micro-focused ultrasound in the US device-event database, and single cases of subcutaneous atrophy are described in the peer-reviewed series;3,4 fat atrophy is also listed among the adverse reactions in a 290-patient follow-up of monopolar radiofrequency.5 It is one of the reasons Dr Sin Yong matches the device to how much fat a face has to spare. Hollowing that has already happened is assessed in person; the options are discussed on the VF Lift – Vertical Facelift page and under second opinions.

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® vs Thermage FLX

Both heat the dermis volumetrically, so this is the closest comparison. Thermage uses monopolar radiofrequency through a fixed-pulse tip. In the 86-patient multicentre study, 83.2% of treated periorbital areas improved by at least one wrinkle grade after one session, with second-degree burns in 0.36% of applications.6 Time Freeze uses light rather than current, which lets it be adjusted to skin depth and colour, and it carries the Sculpting mode that Thermage does not have. Comfort differs: in Dr Sin Yong’s clinic, patients rate Time Freeze at about 3 out of 10 for discomfort, while those who have had Thermage or Ultherapy elsewhere usually describe those at around 8 out of 10, which matches the published need for topical anaesthesia or analgesia with both.1,5 Collagen contraction from laser heating is visible during the session, remodelling continues over the following months,7 and in his experience the change holds for longer than he sees after ultrasound or radiofrequency alone. These are clinic observations, not trial results, and how much any one face changes varies.

Time Freeze Laser LCLR® vs liposuction

Liposuction removes fat in volume through a cannula under anaesthesia. In Singapore it is restricted to doctors accredited under the Ministry of Health’s liposuction framework, performed in approved facilities, with a seven-day cooling-off period, and it is not done in a clinic setting above a BMI of 28.8 Time Freeze also removes fat in volume, but only the superficial layer it can reach from the surface, without incisions or anaesthesia. For thick fat pads Dr Sin Yong does not send patients to surgery as a first step: he uses the 4K Body Lift, radiofrequency on the Secret Duo, alone or with VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, and reserves a surgical opinion for cases those do not address.

How Dr Sin Yong decides: lean or puffy

He looks at the area, not the device list. If the face is lean or already hollow, he uses VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, because it does three things at once: it lifts by tightening the skin with Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency, it sculpts where there are pockets of puffiness, and it restores, helping the areas that are already lean and hollow regenerate some of their own fat by stimulating the fat stem cells; in his experience that regrowth is in the order of 10 to 20 percent. He does not plan Ultherapy or HIFU for these patients, because focused ultrasound reduces fat and deepens the hollowing. If the area is puffy or heavy, with sagged fat or settled product, he uses Time Freeze Laser LCLR® and its Sculpting mode. Lean faces, VF Lift; puffy or heavier faces, Time Freeze. The two are often sequenced in one plan when a face has both.

“Lean face, VF Lift. Puffy face, Time Freeze. I decide by looking at the area, not by which machine is in the room.”

Skin Tightening Treatment Singapore — Ideal Candidates

It tends to suit patients with mild to moderate jowling, deepening nasolabial folds, marionette lines, brow heaviness, loss of jawline definition, or loose skin requiring tightening treatment — without significant skin excess that would require surgical correction. Time Freeze Laser LCLR® addresses tightening at two depths, skin quality and, through the Sculpting mode, sagged fat within the same session. It is not appropriate for patients with pronounced laxity where surgical facelift would be the more effective option — Dr Sin Yong provides an honest assessment at consultation.

Can be combined with VF Lift – Vertical Facelift, which works on the dermis and subcutaneous layer with Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency, within a planned non-surgical facelift programme matched to what the assessment finds.

Medical Setting

Why a Doctor, Not a Salon

Assessment before treatment

Dr Sin Yong examines your skin, medical history and degree of laxity before any energy is delivered, and will advise you if this treatment is not suitable for you.

Energy settings set by a physician

Treatment depth and energy levels are selected and adjusted during the session by a doctor, based on your anatomy and response — not a fixed preset.

Management of complications

If a side effect such as a burn or swelling occurs, it is assessed and managed by a doctor at the clinic, with medical treatment available on site.

Fees & Consultation

What Determines Your Fee

The area being treated

A focused zone and a full-face plan are different undertakings, and the fee reflects the extent of what is actually treated.

What the assessment finds

The plan follows the examination — what is loose, what has descended, and what the skin itself needs determine the approach.

Single or combined modalities

Some plans use one technology; others combine modalities at different depths, staged over time.

Fees are not published on this site; they are set out at consultation. Your fee is set out clearly at consultation, after Dr Sin Yong has assessed you — before anything is decided.
