Who should not have the 4K Body Lift?
The 4K Body Lift is not suitable for everyone, and several situations call for delay or a different plan. Treatment is deferred in pregnancy and while breastfeeding, and after childbirth the area is allowed to heal first, with abdominal wall separation checked separately. Active infection, open wounds, eczema or another skin condition in the treatment zone is settled before any energy is delivered.
Because the protocol places radiofrequency energy through insulated microneedles on the Secret Duo platform, a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, metal implants or threads in or near the area, a bleeding tendency or blood-thinning medication, and a tendency to keloid scarring or poor healing are reviewed individually. Diabetes that is not well controlled and other conditions that slow healing are discussed before treatment.
It is also not a weight-loss treatment. Someone well above their usual weight, or with marked loose skin after major weight loss, is usually better served by weight management or by referral to a plastic surgery specialist. Suitability is decided at consultation.
Is the 4K Body Lift safe? The risks to know
Like any radiofrequency treatment, the 4K Body Lift carries risks, most of them temporary. Redness, warmth, swelling and tenderness in the treated zone are expected, and fine pinpoint marks from the microneedles can be visible while the skin settles. Bruising is possible and, when it occurs, can take one to two weeks to fade.
Less common effects include temporary numbness or firmness, small raised bumps along the treatment pattern, and darkening of the skin after inflammation, which is more likely in Fitzpatrick III to V skin and with sun exposure. Rarely, heat can cause a burn, blister or scar, or a needle point can become infected, and an uneven contour is possible.
These risks are reduced by mapping each zone before treatment, setting depth and energy to the patient rather than to a preset, keeping the insulated needles in the intended plane, and simple aftercare: keeping the area clean, keeping treated skin out of the sun and reporting anything that is worsening rather than settling. Any change is reviewed before another session is planned.
What recovery looks like after the 4K Body Lift
The sequence below describes phases, not a timetable: how quickly each passes depends on the settings used, the area and the person, and is discussed at consultation.
- Immediately afterRedness, warmth, swelling and tenderness in the treated zone, with fine pinpoint marks from the microneedles. Most return to usual activities.
- The first eveningKeep the area clean and moisturised; avoid heat, saunas and strenuous exercise; arnica may be suggested if bruising appears.
- The following daysPinpoint marks and redness fade; bruising, if it occurs, fades gradually. Sun protection on exposed areas limits darkening.
- As the skin settlesTemporary numbness or firmness is uncommon and settles; collagen builds gradually beneath the skin, refining contour over time.
- Follow-upEach zone is reassessed before any further treatment is timed, and any raised bump or persistent change is reviewed.
4K Body Lift compared with the other body and face options the page names| Option | What it does | What it cannot do | What to expect afterwards | Who it tends to suit |
|---|
| 4K Body Lift (radiofrequency on Secret Duo) | Radiofrequency directed at compact resistant fat and the skin over it. | Not liposuction or weight loss; cannot remove a large volume of fat or marked loose skin. | Redness, warmth, swelling and pinpoint marks that settle; bruising is possible. | Resistant fat in the tummy, waist, thighs or arms, with a stable weight. |
| Fat freezing (cryolipolysis) | Targets fat by cooling. | Does not use radiofrequency to firm skin; it addresses a different concern. | Discussed at consultation, once the area and plan are assessed. | Those whose concern is fat alone, clarified at consultation. |
| VF Lift – Vertical Facelift | Volnewmer monopolar radiofrequency along vertical vectors, customised for face and body. | Directed at laxity and jowling rather than compact resistant fat. | Discussed at consultation, once the area and plan are assessed. | Facial laxity and jowling. |
| Time Freeze Laser LCLR® | Dual-wavelength laser protocol for compact fat in the jowl, submental and perioral zones. | A face protocol; the 4K Body Lift is the body counterpart. | Discussed at consultation, once the area and plan are assessed. | Compact resistant fat of the face. |
| Weight management or specialist referral | Weight management for those above their usual weight; referral for surgery where it would serve better. | Dr Sin Yong refers on rather than performing surgery. | Handled by the specialist; discussed at consultation. | Marked loose skin after major weight loss, or well above usual weight. |
Who it suits, who should wait, who is referred on
Tends to suit
- Compact, resistant fat in the tummy, waist, thighs or arms
- People near their usual weight with a localised concern
- Mild skin looseness over the treated area
- Those who want to avoid surgery and accept gradual change
Better to wait
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Recent childbirth, until the area has healed and muscle separation is checked
- Active infection, open wounds or eczema in the treatment zone
- Weight well above your usual level, or a goal that treatment cannot meet
Referred on
- Marked loose skin after major weight loss, referred to a plastic surgery specialist
- Large-volume fat concerns where liposuction would serve better
Who should not have this treatment
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Pacemaker or other implanted electronic device
- Metal implants or threads in or near the area
- Bleeding tendency or blood-thinning medication, reviewed individually
- Tendency to keloid scarring or poor healing
- Diabetes that is not well controlled
People looking for weight loss, large-volume fat reduction or correction of marked loose skin tend to respond poorly, because this protocol is the wrong tool for those goals.
Before you book
- Declare pacemakers, metal implants, threads and past surgery in the area
- Tell the clinic about pregnancy, breastfeeding and recent childbirth
- Declare blood thinners and medicines that affect healing or bruising
- Avoid sunburn or a fresh tan on the area before the visit
- Bring recent photographs, your usual weight and any relevant medical notes
What determines the fee
The fee for the 4K Body Lift depends on the areas treated, the number of zones and passes needed, the Secret Duo consumables used, and whether it is combined with another treatment such as facial lifting. The plan is set after assessment rather than as a fixed course. A written quote is given at consultation, and the consultation also decides whether treatment is advised at all, or whether weight management or a surgical opinion would suit you better.
How quotes work at this practice: how we quote.
Myths we hear in clinic
“The 4K Body Lift is a weight-loss treatment.”It is a contouring protocol for localised fat, and it is not a substitute for weight management.
“Radiofrequency fat treatment works the same as fat freezing.”They act through different mechanisms, so the choice depends on the area and the problem.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 4K Body Lift suitable for me?+
The 4K Body Lift is planned for people wanting non-surgical firming and contouring of areas such as the tummy, flanks, arms or thighs, alongside a stable weight. Suitability is assessed by Dr Sin Yong at consultation.
Does the 4K Body Lift hurt?+
The treatment uses radiofrequency energy and is generally described as a warming sensation that is well tolerated, with settings adjusted to the area and to you.
Does it tighten loose skin as well as contour?+
Yes — the radiofrequency energy stimulates collagen to firm skin while refining contour, which is why it is often chosen for looseness after weight change or pregnancy.
Is the 4K Body Lift the same as fat freezing?+
No. Fat freezing targets fat by cooling; the 4K Body Lift uses radiofrequency to firm skin and refine contour. They address different concerns, which Dr Sin Yong clarifies at consultation.
Do I need to maintain my weight for results to last?+
Yes — a stable weight and healthy lifestyle help results hold, since the treatment refines skin and contour rather than replacing weight management.
Is it suitable after pregnancy?+
The 4K Body Lift is commonly considered for post-pregnancy skin looseness and softened contour once the area has healed. Timing and suitability are assessed at consultation.
What is the 4K Body Lift?+
The 4K Body Lift is a radiofrequency treatment where RF energy is delivered precisely to point zones of compact, resistant fat. This increases the metabolic activity of the targeted fat cells and simultaneously tightens the overlying skin — directed at contour without surgery.
How much fat reduction can I expect?+
Response varies between individuals and is assessed at consultation. Any change develops progressively over the following weeks as the metabolic process completes.
How lasting is the result?+
Treated fat cells are cleared by the body over the following weeks. Surrounding tissue continues to change with age, weight and lifestyle. A stable body weight helps any change hold.
How does it compare to liposuction?+
They do different things. Liposuction removes fat surgically through a cannula under anaesthesia; the 4K Body Lift is a non-surgical radiofrequency treatment without incision or general anaesthetic, directed at localised fat and the skin over it. It cannot remove a large volume of fat, it carries its own risks, and where liposuction would serve better, referral to a plastic surgery specialist is discussed.
Is there any downtime?+
There is a small chance of bruising in the treated area; if it occurs, it typically lasts 10–14 days. Arnica may be suggested as part of aftercare. There is no surgical recovery, no general anaesthetic and no incision, and most people return to work the same day while redness, swelling and pinpoint marks settle.
How many sessions are needed and how far apart?+
The protocol is a course planned individually, with sessions spaced about 6 weeks apart; some patients need only one. Dr Sin Yong assesses the degree of fat deposit and advises on the appropriate number of sessions at consultation.
What areas can the 4K Body Lift treat?+
Any area of compact, resistant subcutaneous fat — abdomen, love handles, bra bulge, inner and outer thighs, submental double chin, arms and knees. Dr Sin Yong maps the specific target zones at each consultation.
How much does the 4K Body Lift cost in Singapore?+
The fee depends on the areas and number of zones treated, the passes needed, the consumables used and whether another treatment is combined. Because the protocol is planned individually rather than sold as a fixed course, a quote follows assessment. Dr Sin Yong gives it in writing at consultation, and the consultation decides whether treatment is advised.
Is the 4K Body Lift worth it?+
It tends to be worthwhile for people near their usual weight with a stubborn, localised area who want a non-surgical option and accept gradual change. It is not worthwhile for large-volume fat, weight loss or marked loose skin, where weight management or a surgical opinion is more appropriate.
How long does the 4K Body Lift last?+
It depends on how the area responds, your weight, age, pregnancy history and lifestyle, because surrounding tissue keeps changing. Treated fat cells are cleared gradually by the body. No duration can be promised, and the timing of review and any further treatment is set at consultation.
What are the disadvantages of the 4K Body Lift?+
Change is gradual and varies between people. It is not liposuction and cannot treat large volumes or marked loose skin. Redness, swelling, pinpoint marks and bruising are common early on, and less often blistering or pigment change occurs. It is not suitable in pregnancy or with a pacemaker.
